Tanya Sotsky
Raised by a Ukrainian immigrant family in Montréal, Québec, Tanya has always been fascinated by languages. She moved to New Brunswick where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in translation at the Université de Moncton.
Throughout her studies, she did three internships in her field at CLS Lexi-tech, at the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and at the Department of National Defence. Once she graduated, she started working at Lionbridge as a translator for a couple of years until she accepted a position at the Translation Bureau as a junior translator. She is currently on secondment at the Legislative Services as a French Legislative Editor.
Curious, creative, and open-minded, she enjoys trying an array of things. She enjoys cooking, reading, playing video games, watching movies, learning languages, painting, and even more activities. As the Representative of the candidates, she hopes students and candidates will feel comfortable discussing the certification process and share their views and concerns with her so that she may be their voice within the CTINB.
