Laurence Abbé
Originally from France, I spent several years in the United States where I completed my university studies and obtained a bachelor's degree in management and computer science. After working for an insurance agency in St. Louis, Missouri for six years, I moved to Canada where I lived in Quebec City and Vancouver.
While working as a business analyst at iA Financial Group, I returned to school and obtained a certificate in translation from the University of St. Boniface, Manitoba.
I worked in that field on occasion for a few years and then, in 2017, I decided to change careers and become a translator full-time. Since I hadn't yet had the opportunity to visit the Maritimes, I moved to Fredericton where I obtained a position as a translator with the New Brunswick Translation Bureau. During my free time, I enjoy exploring the province's hiking trails and taking photographs.
As First Vice-President of the CTINB, I am responsible for certification.
